PRISM investigators present for this investigation included Carl N., Dottie N., Bo K., and Kelley N.. The PRISM team was accompanied by guest investigators Barb R. (sensitive), Tom R., and Suzanne B..
During this overnight investigation, the house seemed very active, and several of the team witnessed apparition sightings which included a child's hand inside the children's room closet door and the apparition of a bearded male figure in the parlor. The children's room closet door was seen opening and closing twice during the investigation, and several EVPs were recorded in both the children's room and the first floor blue room.
The following is a detailed account of the investigation:
When the team entered the house, they all experienced sensations of dizziness, nausea, cold, goose bumps, heaviness, chest pain, and a gasping can't get your
breath type of feeling. Some of the group felt more intense feelings than
others --Kelley, Carl, and Barb. Tom felt someone or something tugging at
the chain necklace he was wearing, though photos taken of him revealed nothing unusual.
Everyone felt a negative feeling in the attic-type room off the parents bedroom.
None of the team wanted to go in there. The best that they could do was to peek in the
doorway to snap photos and place a digital audio recorder in the room to try to capture EVPs. Shortly afterwards, Barb went into the first floor blue room and heard some faint snapping noises. Upon further investigation, it sounded as if it was coming from the old sewing machine --we could reproduce the sound by turning the wheel on the machine. When
the sounds occurred again the wheel was not moving.
The team then gathered in the parlor and talked occasionally, hearing some thuds and
bumps from the room above us, the children's bedroom; it sounded
like someone jumping off of the bed or children ruff-housing.
The team moved the kitchen table into the parlor and all gathered around the table and
began a seance.
During this time, Suzzane was taking pictures of the team with a 35mm camera and from the corner of her eye, she caught a movement in the blue room. This happened twice.
The team heard some clicks and snaps from the blue room and some bumps from
children's bedroom above them. Barb said that she felt as if some spirit wanted to speak through Carl, but that did not occur. While they were sitting around the table, Barb, Tom, and Suzanne
could see an extra face in the picture behind the stove on the wall by the couch.
It was a man's face with a dark beard.
Afterwards, the he entire team began a crystal dowsing experiment. The crystal seemed
very active. When Carl used it, it looked as if it wanted to go in many directions at
once, similar to how a bobber acts when fishing. During this time,
something began to fall from the vent in the parlor ceiling, the team thought that it was water dripping, but on closer inspection, it turned
out to be paint chips. There were also two rubber balls in the parlor. No one was playing with these but the team could
hear what sounded like balls bouncing on the parlor floor.
Carl and Bo went upstairs at 2:45 AM to change the video tape for the last time in
the children's room. While up there, they heard the candy necklace that was hanging
off the closet door handle knocking against the closet door. When they looked at
the door it opened slightly, about 1/4 inch. After that, the rest of the team joined them upstairs. Carl, Bo,
Kelley, Barb, and Suzanne talked to "Paul" trying to coax him to open and close the
closet door. He came through by opening the door and closing it on a few occasions. The
door opened 1/2 to 1 inch. Upon witnessing the the door opening Carl felt an
astounding rush of awe and amazement which was intensified when hearing Dottie
gasp and seeing Kelley covering her mouth with her hand. The candy necklace moved a lot. The video camera seemed
to go in and out of focus right around the time there was activity at the door.
The team stayed in the children's bedroom for approximately one hour. "Things" were seen by several of the team. Carl had opened
the door about 3 to 4 inches and asked "Paul" to close the closet door. Dottie was at a vantage point
to be able to see into the closet and at times she could see
what looked like a faint glowing area inside the closet filling the space between the
door and the door frame, sometimes high on the door, sometimes in the middle area,
and sometimes lower down. This was intermittent. She did not see it come and go,
it was just there and then it was not. This happened several times. Dottie and Barb later saw what
appeared to be pale tiny fingers touching the inside of the door just below the handle, which
lasted only a brief moment ...it was just there
and then it was not. At one point Carl saw a small dark shadow around the handle
of the door. None of the above apparitions appeared on the video.
Afterwards, the team decided to pack up for the night. They left a
bag of candy for "Paul". Before heading downstairs, they had left the closet door open 3 to 4
inches. Carl and Bo went upstairs one last time and found the door closed.

At the time, the room was empty, but you can clearly hear a male voice say, "How fantastic!"

You hear guest investigator Barb ask, "Are you going to scare us?" Immediately after that you can hear a male voice say what sounds like, "I guess so."

The room was empty, but you can clearly hear a child make a whimpering sound and then a playful sounding scream.

The room was empty, but you can hear a clicking sound, then an indistinct voice saying something indecipherable, proceeded by another clicking sound.

 Villisca Axe Murder House - Children's Bedroom
A mist-like photographic anomaly was captured around the door knob of the closet door in the children's bedroom. We don't believe the anomaly to be a light reflection off of the door knob.
